Wizards For Word's BOOK DOCTOR is a new
submenu added to Wizards for Word's Tools menu. With Book Doctor you can
activate various tools: Ghost Reviewer, Manuscript Repair,
Character Wizard, or several White Space clean tools.
Many of us
were taught to put two spaces between sentences. This has been changed. There
should be only one space between sentences. If, out of habit, you still put
two, no problem. Run the "Delete xtra spaces between sentences" feature
at any time to clean up your manuscript.
The same is true of extra
spaces at the end of paragraphs or extraneous blank lines throughout the
manuscript. Although these extraneous non printing characters don't appear to
cause any problem initially, they can introduce strange problems later when
you're editing, or if you provide a Word document to an editor for export to a
pre-press program, very common in nonfiction.
